This patient was unhappy with the broken front teeth, due to trauma from a previous accident, and both the color and shape of the teeth.

Because most of the natural tooth structure was healthy and functional, porcelain veneers were the restoration of choice. Veneers are thin porcelain laminates that are bonded to the underlying tooth. These restorations can correct many defects including shape, color, and alignment. Porcelain veneers are long lasting and very durable.

Older silver/amalgam fillings eventually corrode, crack, or break necessitating replacement. Larger amalgam fillings like these are often accompanied by damage or decay to the tooth structure along side the filling.
