Sleep Apnea

 

Sleep Apnea occurs when a person's breathing is interupted during sleep because the airway is blocked. In a severe case, a person could be waking up hundreds of times in a night without realizing it. This is dangerous because it prevents one's brain and body from getting enough oxygen, and leaves a person feeling tired even after a full nights rest.  Snoring is the symtom of sleep apnea most commonly noticed, especially because it can interfere with our loved ones sleep as well. However, sleep apnea may cause other severe problems such as:

  • High Blood Pressure
  • Weight Gain
  • Stroke
  • Worsening of ADHD
  • Depression
  • Headaches
  • Heart Failure
